Research interests

My main research interests are epidemiology and population biology of forest pathogenic fungi – and fungus-like oomycetes. My main model species are the poplar rust fungus Melampsora larici-populina and the emerging interspecific hybrid oomycete Phytophthora alni causing alder decline. My recent work is focused on:

  • the combination of epidemiology and population genetics approaches in order to study the evolution of fungal populations and adaptation to qualitative and quantitative plant resistances
  • the study of emerging forest diseases and biological invasions, in relation with the evolution of fungal pathogen populations
