In the framework of the program ‘Cordées de la Réussite’ (a line on success) with support from the Ministry of National Education, the college of Einville-to-Jard, a partner of the INRA Center of Nancy Lorraine with the Survivors project, received support from LabEx ARBRE and the INRA center who organized an on-site visit of two classes of middle school students. The visit took place on the Champenoux campus this past May 5th. The objective was to give students who are thinking about their own professional futures a chance to meet people working in science and learn more about the range of  professions and postions linked to the world of research.

The day was organized by dividing each class into three groups which were then guided by three research units;  IAM, LERFOB and EEF. The students attended three workshops presented by a technician, an engineer and a doctoral candidate. This gave the students a valuable window into the day to day life for each of these positions and allowed them to learn about the course of studies necessary for each. The students then met with those who work in support (in computers and technical support, in human resources, and in communication).  This last workshop permitted us to show students the full range of diverse trades linked  with research.
