LabEx ARBRE Seminar Series : Prof. Markus Kleber

Markus Kleber of Oregon State University will present his work entitled:
“Beyond stabilization: the role of the mineral phase in soil carbon cycling”
on Thursday, 9 September 2021 at 10:30 am in the Conference Room at INRAE Champenoux.
Markus Kleber’s work has significantly contributed to a new view on organic matter dynamics in soil, challenging the concept of recalcitrance and humification, and highlighting the processes of progressive depolymerisation of organic matter (Lehmann and Kleber (2015) Nature). He has also worked extensively on the interactions between soil organic matter and mineral phases.
During his seminar, he will discuss the paradigm shift in organic matter degradation as well as his latest work published in Nature Reviews in Earth and Environment on the dynamic interactions at the mineral–organic matter interface.
